Kia Ora! A bit about me ...

Kia ora, my name is Marama, and I live in the busy little village of Waipu with my amazing whanau.  We have lived amongst the beauty of Bream Bay for 21 years after falling in love with it and decided to make Waipu our home.  We whakapapa to Taumarunui and my husband Steve is a proud English-Kiwi import hailing from a sleepy village in the Cotswolds.  He came here to cycle New Zealand on an undersized 3-speed bike almost 30 years ago and still considers this an ongoing holiday.

We have 3 beautiful daughters who are forging their paths in this crazy world with their careers and their own pepe, with 2 mokopuna and pepe number 3 joining us very shortly – can’t wait to meet him.  We also have 2 amazing sons who are at college and intermediate, navigating their adolescent years and all that comes with it.  They are both incredibly sporty boys, and their true passion is football – the beautiful game – which tends to dominate most aspects of their/our lives.  Thanks Steve xo

I have been a customer of Dawn’s and Dirty Hippie for 7 years, first meeting at her stall at the local Artisan market in Waipu.  I purchased some shampoo bar samples and was absolutely astounded by not only how well they worked, how simple and natural they are and that there was no unnecessary packaging and the bag they came in was recyclable.  A very clear, simple message and an ethos that resounded with me then and every day since.  It’s this admiration for Dawn, her products and the brand that she has created that tweaked my interest when I received that newsletter announcing the business was for sale back in October.  Fast forward 4 months and here we are on the cusp of a new and exciting adventure.
Please be assured that whilst you will be seeing new faces, the products and the brand won’t be changing, and Dawn will be coaching and training us in the art of making the Dirty Hippie products you know and love.  Dawn and Hamish are just up the road from us and have a keen interest in supporting us to maintain the quality of the products and service to existing and new customers.
